Sofia Maisonette Sells at EUR 1,698,000

TA luxurious property in one of Sofia most expensive residential districts has been offered for sale at the whopping price of EUR 1,698 000, according to reports.

The maisonette in Iztok (East) district, covering a floorage of 416m2, commanded a price of EUR 4081/m2, which is record-high for this part of the capital, 24 Hours daily reported.

Experts commented that the deal is indicative of a sustainable trend and pointed out that these are asking price levels.

A deal near the Tsar Osvoboditel monument in downtown Sofia set another precedent on Sofia property market at the end of last year after a flat of 285 m2 was put for sale at the shocking asking price of EUR 1 M.

At the end of August this year a luxurious flat, facing one of the prettiest churches in Sofia - the Russian Church of St. Nikolay, was sold at the record-high price of EUR 6,316 per m2.

Unconfirmed information says the property in Iztok district was owned by underworld boss Georgi Iliev, who was shot dead in August 2005.
